عبد الله الأسود مطرب ليبي من مواليد طرابلس عام 1962، بدأت موهبته من خلال النشاط المدرسي في مدرسة باب بن غشير الابتدائية على يد أساتذة منهم رجب كريمة وعامر الحجاجي ولطفي العارف وعز الدين كريم. وفي نحو السابعة عشرة من عمره التحق بالفرقة العربية للمالوف والموشحات بقيادة الشيخ محمد إقنيص، وتعلم فيها المقامات والطقطوقة ودقائق المفردات الموسيقية، وكان من أبناء جيله فيها خالد عبد الله وصلاح عبد الله ومصطفى طالب. التحق بالإذاعة عام 1978 وشارك في تتر برنامج «لقاء مع فنان» بأغنية «يا نجوم الليل يا نجوم سهرانة» التي التصقت بأذهان المستمعين. ومن أعماله المعروفة أيضًا أغنية «ثورتنا ربي» وأوبريت «لم الشمل».
Abdullah Aswad is a Libyan singer born in Tripoli in 1962. His talent emerged through school activities at Bab Ben Ghashir primary school under teachers including Rajab Karima, Amer al-Hajaji, Lutfi al-Aref and Ezzedine Karim. At around seventeen he joined the Arab Ensemble for Maluf and Muwashshahat led by Sheikh Muhammad Ignis, where he learned the maqamat and the taqtuqa form alongside peers such as Khaled Abdullah, Salah Abdullah and Mustafa Taleb. He joined Libyan radio in 1978 and sang the theme of the programme "Liqa maa Fannan" with the song "Ya Nujum al-Layl", which became closely associated with him. He is also known for the song "Thawratuna Rabbi" and the operetta "Lam al-Shaml".
