جابر عثمان الدرسي فنان وملحن ومقدم برامج ليبي من مواليد مدينة بنغازي عام 1961، اشتهر بأغاني الأطفال وبرامجهم. درس بمعهد علي الشعالية للموسيقى ببنغازي وحصل على دبلوم موسيقى وتمثيل، ثم عمل مدرسًا بالمعهد نفسه. بدأ ممثلًا في مسلسل عودة إلى الواقع، وقدم عام 1981 برنامج الأطفال المسموع كل يوم حكاية، ثم برنامج أمل الغد التلفزيوني في التسعينيات الذي ظل علامة في تاريخ التلفزيون الليبي. نال جوائز عربية ودولية منها جائزة أحسن ملحن ومطرب للأطفال في الوطن العربي من مهرجان القاهرة للطفل، والمركز الأول في برامج الأطفال بسوريا عام 1988. توفي في بنغازي في الثالث من يوليو 2021 بعد إصابته بفيروس كورونا، وسُمي مسرح الطفل والعرائس ببنغازي باسمه.

Jaber Othman al-Darsi was a Libyan artist, composer and broadcaster born in Benghazi in 1961, known above all for children's songs and children's programmes. He studied at the Ali al-Shaaliya Music Institute in Benghazi, earning a diploma in music and acting, and later taught at the same institute. He began as an actor in the series Awda ila al-Waqi, presented the radio children's programme Kull Yawm Hikaya in 1981, and went on to the television programme Amal al-Ghad in the 1990s, which remained a landmark of Libyan television. He won Arab and international awards, including best children's composer and singer in the Arab world at the Cairo Children's Festival and first place in children's programming in Syria in 1988. He died in Benghazi on 3 July 2021 after contracting COVID-19, and the Benghazi children's and puppet theatre was later named after him.
