محمود الشريف

محمود الشريف مطرب ليبي راحل من الجيل المؤسس للأغنية الليبية، عمل ضابط إيقاع في فرقة الإذاعة الليبية الموسيقية قبل أن يتجه إلى الغناء، وهو ما منح أداءه ضبطاً دقيقاً للجملة اللحنية. اكتشفه الموسيقار كاظم نديم الذي لحن له معظم أعماله، وغنى كذلك من ألحان محمد الكعبازي ومحمد الدهماني وعبد الباسط البدري ومحمد مرشان وإبراهيم أشرف، من كلمات شعراء منهم أحمد الحريري وعلي السني ومحمود السوكني ومسعود القبلاوي. من أشهر أغنياته «خطم حفني» و«يا بيت العيلة» و«يا غصن الورد» و«أحباب الوجوه» و«يا عريسنا» التي صارت جزءاً من تراث الأفراح الليبية. ابنه الفنان علي محمود الشريف يعيد أداء أغنياته.

Mahmoud Sharif was a Libyan singer of the founding generation of Libyan song. He worked as percussion leader in the Libyan Radio orchestra before turning to singing, which gave his delivery a precise command of the melodic line. He was discovered by the composer Kazem Nadim, who wrote most of his material, and he also sang settings by Mohamed al-Kabbazi, Mohamed al-Dahmani, Abdelbasit al-Badri, Mohamed Marshan and Ibrahim Ashraf, to lyrics by poets including Ahmed al-Hariri, Ali al-Sunni, Mahmoud al-Soukni and Masoud al-Qablawi. His best known songs are "Khatam Hafni", "Ya Bayt al-Ayla", "Ya Ghusn al-Ward", "Ahbab al-Wujuh" and "Ya Arisna", the last of which became part of the Libyan wedding repertoire. His son, the singer Ali Mahmoud Sharif, performs his songs.
