محمد الفيتوري

شاعر من أصل ليبي (والده من مدينة زليتن) وأم سودانية، وُلد عام 1936 ونشأ في مدينة الإسكندرية بمصر بعد أن حفظ القرآن الكريم ودرس في المعهد الديني. يُعد من رواد الشعر الحر الحديث في الأدب العربي، ولُقّب ب"شاعر أفريقيا والعروبة". أصدر أكثر من عشرين ديوانًا شعريًا منها "أغاني إفريقيا" و"عاشق من إفريقيا"، وتنقل بين ليبيا والسودان ومصر والمغرب حيث توفي عام 2015.

A poet of Libyan origin (his father was from Zliten) and a Sudanese mother, born in 1936 and raised in Alexandria, Egypt, where he memorized the Quran and studied at a religious institute. He is considered a pioneer of modern free verse in Arabic literature and was nicknamed "the poet of Africa and Arabism". He published more than twenty poetry collections, including "Songs of Africa" and "A Lover from Africa", and moved between Libya, Sudan, Egypt and Morocco, where he died in 2015.
