محمد يونس نجم مطرب ومخرج وممثل ليبي، ولد في مدينة بنغازي عام 1942 ودرس في مدارسها ثم التحق بالإذاعة الليبية فشارك في مسلسلات إذاعية وبرامج متعددة، وبدأ مشواره الغنائي عام 1960. سافر في أواخر الستينيات إلى بريطانيا لدراسة الإخراج التلفزيوني، ومع افتتاح التلفزيون الليبي عام 1968 عُدَّ أول مخرج تلفزيوني ليبي. ارتبط اسمه بقصيدة «ليبيا يا نغماً في خاطري» من شعر مصطفى الهنقاري وألحان يوسف العالم، ومن أغانيه أيضاً «يا لائمي» و«ستعودين» و«بعد انتهينا» بألحان يوسف العالم وعبد الجليل خالد. غنى عام 1969 قصيدة «عهد اليسر» في حفل على مسرح مدرسة بنغازي الثانوية للبنات، وتوقف عن الغناء بعد سبتمبر 1969 رفضاً لتدخل السلطة في الفن.
Mohamed Younis Najm is a Libyan singer, director and actor, born in Benghazi in 1942. He studied in the city's schools, then joined Libyan radio, where he took part in radio dramas and several programmes, and began his singing career in 1960. In the late 1960s he travelled to Britain to study television directing, and with the launch of Libyan television in 1968 he was regarded as the first Libyan television director. His name is tied to the poem "Libya ya Naghaman fi Khatiri", written by Mustafa al-Hanqari and composed by Youssef al-Alem, and his other songs include "Ya La'imi", "Sata'udin" and "Baad Intahayna", composed by Youssef al-Alem and Abdeljalil Khalid. He performed the poem "Ahd al-Yusr" at a concert in Benghazi in the summer of 1969, and stopped singing after September 1969 in rejection of state interference in the arts.
