محمد سليم

محمد سليم اسم فني لمحمد محمد بن علي، وهو مطرب وملحن ليبي وُلد في طرابلس سنة 1915 وفق التوثيق الرسمي. بدأ الغناء رسمياً في نحو الثلاثين من عمره، وكان يكتب كلمات أغانيه ويلحنها ويعزف على العود. عمل في مهنة النول ثم موظفاً في أحد المصارف قبل أن يعود إلى النول بعد تقاعده، وكان إلى جانب الفن رياضياً لعب حارساً للمرمى وبرع في السباحة. من أشهر أغانيه أسعد ليالي الفرح، وتوفي في التاسع من سبتمبر 1994.

Mohamed Salim was the stage name of Mohamed Mohamed bin Ali, a Libyan singer and composer born in Tripoli in 1915 according to official records. He began singing professionally around the age of thirty, and wrote the lyrics for his own songs, composed them, and played the oud. He worked as a weaver, then as a bank employee, and returned to weaving after retiring; alongside music he was an athlete who played as a goalkeeper and was a champion swimmer. His best known song is "Asaad Layali al-Farah", and he died on 9 September 1994.
