Ahmed Sokni

Ahmed Sokni is a Libyan popular (shaabi) singer, nicknamed "the prince of Libyan song", who performs Libyan folk material and accompanies himself on the oud. He has a following in Libya and in Tunisia, and his circulated songs include "Wein al-Habayeb" and "Yimshi al-Awal Yiji al-Thani", along with the duet "Wila Wila" with the Tunisian rapper Artmasta. He was billed for the 34th edition of the El Yamama festival at Menzel Chaker in Tunisia on 18 August 2026, but the festival announced that his show could not go ahead because the required foreign-artist permit was not obtained. Some of his songs have drawn criticism in Libyan circles.

أحمد السوكني مطرب شعبي ليبي يُلقَّب ب"برنس الأغنية الليبية"، يؤدي الأغنية الشعبية الليبية ويعزف على العود في وصلاته الغنائية. له حضور في ليبيا وفي تونس، ومن أعماله المتداولة "وين الحبايب" و"يمشي الأول يجي الثاني"، إضافة إلى أغنية "ويلا ويلا" التي قدمها في ثنائي مع مغني الراب التونسي أرتماستا. كان مبرمجاً ضمن الدورة الرابعة والثلاثين لمهرجان اليمامة بمنزل شاكر في تونس يوم 18 أوت 2026، غير أن هيئة المهرجان أعلنت تعذر تقديم عرضه لعدم الحصول على الترخيص المستوجب للفنان الأجنبي. أثارت بعض أغنياته انتقادات في الأوساط الليبية.
