Idris Drisi

Idris al-Darsi was a Libyan folk/popular singer from Benghazi who began his artistic career in 1980 and performed popular songs that gained wide popularity, such as "Ghala Benghazi" and "al-Housh Bala al-Om Jafi". He was among the first to bring the ghaita (reed instrument) into Libyan folk singing and the first to sing about prisoners. He died young in a car accident he was driving himself in Benghazi, after an artistic career of no more than three years.

إدريس الدرسي مطرب شعبي ليبي من بنغازي، بدأ مسيرته الفنية عام 1980 وقدّم أغاني شعبية عُرفت بشعبية واسعة مثل "غلا بنغازي" و"الحوش بلا الأم جافي"، وكان من أوائل من أدخل آلة الغيطة إلى الغناء الشعبي الليبي وأول من غنى عن السجناء. توفي شاباً إثر حادث سيارة كان يقودها بنفسه في بنغازي، بعد مسيرة فنية لم تتجاوز ثلاث سنوات.
