Omran Gazoun

Omran al-Gazoun was a Libyan folk poet from the city of Al-Marj, who graduated from the Faculty of Arts (history and English) in 1972. He was known for a poetic style blending contemplation and philosophy, earning him the nickname "the philosopher of folk poetry." He died in 2025, and memorial events were held for him in Benghazi.

عمران القزون شاعر شعبي ليبي من أبناء مدينة المرج، تخرج من كلية الآداب تخصص تاريخ ولغة إنجليزية عام 1972. عُرف بأسلوب شعري يمزج بين التأمل والفلسفة، ولُقّب ب"فيلسوف الشعر الشعبي". توفي عام 2025 وأقيمت له فعاليات تأبينية في بنغازي.
